Understanding Log Home Packages
Building a handcrafted log home is more than a construction project. It’s the start of a legacy, shaped from natural materials and built with care. At Cascade Handcrafted Log Homes, we’ve spent decades creating homes that feel grounded, welcoming, and built to last. One of the best ways to begin your journey is by understanding the log home packages we offer. Each one is designed to support different needs, budgets, and building styles, while still delivering the craftsmanship Cascade is known for.
This guide walks you through each package in simple, easy‑reading language so you can choose the path that fits your vision.
What Makes a Cascade Handcrafted Log or Timber Home Unique
Every Cascade home begins with premium logs, skilled hands, and time‑honored techniques. Our team works with each log individually, shaping and fitting it with care. This handcrafted approach creates a home that feels warm, solid, and connected to the land. Whether you choose a full log structure, a timber frame, or a blend of both, you receive the same attention to detail and the same commitment to quality.
The Handcrafted Log Shell Package
A closer look at the core structure of every Cascade home.
The Log Shell Package is the foundation of our work. It includes the full handcrafted log structure, built at our yard in British Columbia. Each log is selected, shaped, and fitted by hand. Once the shell is complete, we take it apart, ship it to your building site, and reassemble it there.
What’s included:
- Handcrafted log walls
- Log roof system (rafters or timber beams)
- Log floor beams
- Log support posts
- Door and window openings cut to plan
- Full reassembly on your site
This package is perfect for homeowners who want the artistry of a handcrafted log home while working with their own local builder for finishing. It gives you the beauty of Cascade craftsmanship with the flexibility to complete the rest of the build your way.
The Timber Frame Package
For homeowners who love open spaces and refined wood craftsmanship.
Timber framing offers a lighter, more open architectural style. Large beams are joined with traditional mortise‑and‑tenon techniques, creating wide, airy interiors. Timber frames pair beautifully with stone, glass, or conventional framing, making them a popular choice for modern rustic homes
What’s included:
- Full timber frame structure
- Posts, beams, trusses, and braces
- Handcrafted joinery
- Pre‑fit assembly at our yard
- Delivery and reassembly on site
Timber frame homes feel elegant and spacious, making them ideal for lake homes, mountain retreats, and contemporary designs.
The Hybrid Log & Timber Package
A blend of rustic strength and modern design flexibility.
The Hybrid Package combines handcrafted log elements with timber frame components. This option gives you the freedom to mix styles throughout your home. You might choose log walls in the great room and timber beams in the kitchen, or a full log exterior with timber accents inside.
What’s included:
- Custom blend of log and timber elements
- Design tailored to your preferred balance
- Pre‑fit assembly and on‑site reassembly
Hybrid homes offer endless possibilities and are perfect for clients who want a unique, personalized design.
How to Choose the Right Package for Your Build
Matching your vision, timeline, and budget.
The right package depends on how involved you want to be, your budget, and the style of home you imagine. Some clients prefer the full log experience, others love the open feel of timber framing, and many enjoy the creative freedom of a hybrid design. No matter which option you choose, every Cascade home begins with the same promise: handcrafted quality, honest materials, and a home built to last for generations.
