Hillside House, British Columbia

Nestled against a lush hillside and surrounded by mature forest, the Hillside Log Home showcases the timeless appeal of handcrafted log construction. Built by Cascade Handcrafted, this stunning residence features a custom log home structure that blends rustic character with architectural elegance. Cascade’s expertise focused on crafting the handcrafted post and beam construction and log shell, creating the foundation for a warm and inviting mountain-inspired retreat.

The Hillside Log Home is built with impressive saddle notch western red cedar logs, highlighting the natural beauty, durability, and warmth that Western Red Cedar is known for. The handcrafted log walls create a striking exterior profile, while the rich wood tones complement the surrounding landscape.

As seen in the front elevation, the home features beautifully stacked log walls, accented by large timber supports and dramatic glass gables. The handcrafted joinery and precision-fitted saddle notch corners demonstrate the craftsmanship that defines every Cascade project.

One of the most distinctive features of this project is the use of handcrafted log flares throughout the structure. These naturally tapered logs enhance the visual appeal of the home while showcasing the unique character of each timber. The covered entryways, expansive deck areas, and soaring rooflines are supported by expertly crafted post and beam construction, creating both structural strength and architectural beauty.

From the gated driveway approach to the inviting front deck and upper dormers, every angle of the Hillside Log Home highlights the artistry of handcrafted log building. The combination of massive cedar logs, timber framing, and thoughtful design creates a home that feels both grand and welcoming.

Whether you’re planning a waterfront retreat, mountain getaway, or forever home, Cascade Handcrafted can help bring your vision to life.
