This is the project we are currently working on in Washington State. It’s unique in that the traditional cross corners have been replaced by large cedar flared posts. The house is designed to be non-settling to minimize any shrinkage.
Cascade Handcrafted Log Homes built a beautiful log shell for a client at our work yard in Chilliwack, British Columbia. After the home was complete we added a car port to finish off this stage of the project, which was inspected by the client before we dismantled the home, loaded it onto trailers and shipped it to Terrace, B.C.

We had the opportunity to build this gem for a great couple up in the mountains of Alpine, Arizona. We built the log shell at our log yard in Rosedale, British Columbia and then drove to the build location with the logging truck for reassembly. The log shell is ready to be finished off by the client’s choice of a local builder.
A gorgeous post and beam made from western red cedar, carefully handcrafted with inner knee braces and supports and is currently being built at the Cascade Handcrafted log yard. Once the log and timber frame home is completed, it will be shipped to it’s new home in Kansas, USA.
Winter and early Spring can bring many cold days to the Cascade Handcrafted Log Yard. So how do the guys keep warm? They make themselves a fire log by plunging into the log against the grain.
