Washington State – Latewood Finish
We’re currently working on a unique home for our customer in Washington state designed by RCM CAD Design.
The shape is unlike any traditional home in that the hexagon shape featuring a spacious open floor plan plays a little trick on the eyes as though the log walls just flow into one another.
Our customer chose to build using Western Red Cedar pressure washed “Latewood” – looks amazing, one of a kind!
Here are the real life pictures of the Hemlock for Washington currently being built at the Cascade log yard. LateWood is the part of the wood in a growth ring of a tree that is produced later in the growing season. The cells of late wood are smaller and have thicker cell walls than those produced earlier in the season. This gives the logs a silky, shiny smooth texture.
