We had the opportunity to build this gem for a great couple up in the mountains of Alpine, Arizona. We built the log shell at our log yard in Rosedale, British Columbia and then drove to the build location with the logging truck for reassembly. The log shell is ready to be finished off by the client’s choice of a local builder.

Trees can develop interesting features, given their growing conditions and environment. Usually, a tree will grow having the different bands creating “rings” throughout the growth of the tree. The two bands look different because the small cells created by the tree in the Summer absorb more light and there for look darker.

A gorgeous post and beam made from western red cedar, carefully handcrafted with inner knee braces and supports and is currently being built at the Cascade Handcrafted log yard. Once the log and timber frame home is completed, it will be shipped to it’s new home in Kansas, USA.
